My guest today is Matt Ritter, a lawyer-turned-comedian who traded in big law for the big stage.  Matt is also a TV producer on various shows including A&E’s Duck Dynasty and “Fat N’ Furious” (Discovery Channel). He often tours the country performing comedy for lawyers and non-lawyers alike.

What We Discuss in this Episode:

  • How to be honest with yourself as to what you want to be doing in life
  • How he finally made the decision to transition from law to comedy
  • How to not wait for someone to tell you when it’s your chance to do something
  • Why Matt chose to distance himself from his lawyer identity when he first transitioned
  • Why you are what people perceive you to be
  • What you bring to the table that’s different and how to use that to your advantage
  • Should you continue to introduce yourself as a lawyer even if you’re not practicing law?
  • Whatever it is you want to do, you should already be doing it
